Comexi Group takes the lead in technological development for flexible packaging during Interpack

• Professionals from over 75 countries have been interested in Comexi Group’s latest innovations in printing and converting

• One focus of interest has been the Comexi NEXUS L20000 laminator, the solution in finishing specifically designed for the HP Indigo 20000 after the partnership between the two companies

Girona, 15 May 2014.- Comexi Group, a leading specialist in machinery solutions for the flexible packaging conversion industry, finishes its attendance at Interpack standing out as a technological leader in the sector. At the stand of the company, which has been visited by a large number of professionals from over 75 countries, all attendees have been able to know the latest developments added to its wide range of solutions in order to meet the growing market demands. Comexi Group takes a positive view of its presence at the fair after 30 years of absence due to the high attendance of visitors and the growing interest in new technologies presented both in printing (flexo, gravure and offset) and conversion.

This time, Comexi Group has focused its work on demonstrating the enormous possibilities that exist nowadays to achieve the perfect flexible package. Through a wide variety of packagings from multiple sectors and countries, professionals have been able to discover two new Comexi solutions: on the one hand, the Cingular Laser technology, the new integrated laser in-line system capable of reducing processes, improving performance compared to other solutions on the market and responding to converters and brand owners thanks to HoleTech, ScribingTech, CuttingTech, HallmarkTech, SelectCutTech and 3DTreatmentTech applications.

On the other hand, and referring to lamination, the Cingular Holography technology has become the most suitable solution for creating registered holographic effects on a wide variety of substrates. With the new Comexi NEXUS Futura laminating machine, converters can apply holograms on a flexible package to achieve a great visual impact on the consumer and incorporate copy protection items in order to prevent counterfeiting.

Regarding sustainable printing, Comexi Group has highlighted the Comexi OFFSET CI8, a solution that responds most effectively to four issues that summarize current market demands: high quality, time to market, respect for the environment and cost reduction. Not forgetting the Comexi FLEXO F2 WB, ideal for companies which want to take the plunge into solventless printing with high speeds and without losing quality.

Comexi Group develops the perfect solventless laminating solution for short runs

HP and Comexi Group announced recently a strategic agreement to develop an optimized lamination solution for the HP Indigo 20000 digital printer. The new Comexi NEXUS L20000 is the first and best solution in laminating and coating for digital printing on flexible packaging. The machine, available in both in-line and offline settings, will provide an advanced solventless lamination to help flexible packaging converters to reduce time to market and waste, and also the resulting environmental impact.

"Life cycles increasingly shorter and the customizing of the package are driving short runs that require a fast response time," says Ramon Xifra, vice-chairman of Comexi Group. "The new Comexi NEXUS L20000, along with the HP Indigo 20000, will enable flexible packaging converters meet their needs and increase their businesses.

Presence of the Manel Xifra Boada Technological Center to strengthen the flexible packaging industry

Comexi Group has participated along with the Manel Xifra Boada Technological Center, a benchmark in the flexible packaging sector as a driving force of knowledge, in the presentation of the new trends in flexible packaging. During a conference held on Tuesday 13, new technology solutions and professional services that Comexi Group and the Technological Center are developing in accordance to future trends -after analyzing the current market- have been made known. Subsequently, the company has explained the main attributes that must be worked on to optimize a product (including communication, functionality, versatility, security, seriality, ...) as well as the outlook for the coming years.

Another conference organized by Comexi Group was held along with BASF. Both companies, faithful to their commitment to leading the change toward solventless quality printing, presented their state-of-the-art developments in water-based printing. BASF presented its new portfolio of water based resins: Joncryl®FLX and Laromer EB®, two solutions that fit seamlessly into Comexi Group machinery such as the Comexi FLEXO F2 WB or the future Comexi FLEXO F4 WB for short runs.
