Comexi, specialist in solutions for the flexible packaging industry, has joined for the first time the Manufacturing Day, a global celebration for the manufacturing industry.
The group maintains a strong commitment to the environment and with the younger generations and carries out different actions to improve information and knowledge about the flexible packaging converting field and promote better vocational training in this area.
Through its Technologic Centre Manel Xifra Boada (Comexi CTEC), Comexi is firmly committed to training and aims to become the engine of knowledge within the flexible packaging field. In this regard, and also promoting training courses for professionals, Comexi CTEC also boosted in 2013 a high school training cycle on Technical in Graphic Printing and Converting, with the goal of providing qualified converting workers, which did not exist before.
In the last three years, about thirty students have trained in this secondary school, taught jointly with the Santa Eugènia Institute of Girona, at Comexi and at companies in the industry. The occupation rate is more than 80% after conclude these studies.
The Manufacturing Day is on October 7th this year and it would be a chance to connect companies and communities, especially young people. This event brings the opportunity to manufacturers to open their doors and show their skilled tasks, connect with future generations and help dispel myths about manufacturing.
