Great presence of the flexographic technology of Comexi in the FTA Awards

Comexi, specialist in solutions for the printing industry and the conversion of flexible packaging, was recognized for its innovative flexographic technology by the prestigious Flexographic Technical Association (FTA), with 9 awards in the Mid Web and Wide Web categories going to three of its Latin American converters. The FTA, established in 1958, is a professional company that brings together all members of the flexographic printing community and annually rewards the best packaging printing jobs with the FTA Awards for excellence in flexography.

The FTA Awards bring together companies from around the world that present their best packaging to be evaluated by a panel of judges made up of valuable members from the printing industry, who, among the thousands of projects presented, select, under demanding standards, a small subset that meets the conditions of excellence sought. This year the awards were presented in May at the Indianapolis Marriott Downtown in Indiana, USA, where 36 gold prizes, 39 silver prizes, 33 bronze prizes, 3 self-promotion prizes, 1 non-traditional prize and 6 Best of Show awards were given.

Of the 112 prizes, 9 were awarded to products printed with the leading flexographic technology of the Comexi F2 families and Comexi F4, the group's sales successes, which encompass the best technological solutions, demonstrating that the company always offers the most innovative solutions which are competitive and efficient in responding to the high demands of the market.

The Honduran company Industrias de Plasticos SA de CV (Inplasa), won 5 awards and the Best of Show in the Mid Web category. It was awarded 2 gold prizes, 1 Best of Show recognition, 1 silver prize and 2 bronze prizes for the printing of films of different food products, which the jury highlighted the excellent records, the incredible ink coverage, the expansion of colours and the sharpness of the screens. Heydi Mejía, General Director of the company, commented: "Inplasa has received recognition by the FTA consecutively for the last 4 years, becoming the first Central American company to be awarded and a winner of two Best of Show (2017 and 2018). This achievement has been made possible by highly trained personnel, cutting-edge technology and support from our customers. Every year the challenge of Inplasa is to select designs that demand more from us and make us more competitive."

Acknowledgements received by FTA: 2015 (2 Silver), 2016 (1 Gold, 1 Silver and 1 Bronze), 2017 (1 Best of Show, 2 Gold and 1 Silver), 2018 (1 Best of Show, 2 Gold, 1 Silver and 2 Bronze).

Additionally, the Mexican company Folmex was awarded twice in two different categories, Wide Web and Mid Web, obtaining 3 bronze and 1 gold, for the printing of different packaging of hygiene products and perfumery, which were highlighted by its registration definition, the beauty in the use of varnishes, and the perfection in the finishing of its impression. Folmex could not be more satisfied with these awards, and the technology of Comexi, as two of the awarded products were printed with Comexi technology.

The third company awarded was Resinplast, from Costa Rica, with 2 silver awards in the Mid Web category for the printing of a film for drinks and another for coffee, which were selected for the quality in the final print and for the originality of its proposal, as the jury emphasized.

This recognition is another reason to continue innovating and betting on new technologies, as part of a strategy to consolidate its global leadership and accompany its customers on the path to excellence.
