Looking back at 2016, the packaging industry took strides in more innovative, sustainable, holistic, technologically advanced and efficient directions. Pouch packaging, the use of green color symbolizing nature and packaging for one person were the most important packaging trends during 2016.
For this year, there are improvements in prioritizing food safety and the reduction of food waste with new packaging technologies and processes, and as far as sales are concerned about flexible packaging, are projected to rise by 3% in real terms during 2017 and grow at an annual rate of 4% to 2018.
