Comexi reinforces its strategic positioning in South Korea

Comexi, global leader in the flexible packaging industry, organized a technical seminar on June 26, with the support of the company representative of Comexi in Korea Hankook, in Myeongdong, South Korea. To this end, its best technicians moved with the objective of giving high-quality lectures, in which their main collaborators also took part. The seminar was supported by the Manel Xifra Boada Technology Center, which has extensive experience and knowledge and is the main source of knowledge in the flexible packaging sector.

After the major recognition and support from customers in the first technical seminars held in Peru and Mexico, the company selected South Korea, one of the key countries in Asia, to hold its third technical seminar, confirming the importance of this country in its consolidation and leadership plans in the area. The day was attended by more than eighty customers and collaborators, eager to learn first-hand about new solutions in the increasingly demanding market of flexible packaging.  It also gave them a unique opportunity to take in the range of the most innovative printing and converting technologies available in the market.

On behalf of Comexi, on such an important occasion for the company, Jordi Gorchs, Sales Manager of Comexi and Victor Vilanova, Area Manager, attended as speakers. The two joined Youngkeun Kim, President of Hankook, and Satoshi Maeda and Yu Nagumo, speakers from Toyo Ink Group. All of them led a seminar focused primarily on the increasingly important Asian market. They offered a seasoned account of the outstanding gravure printing technology. They also analyzed printing solutions such as flexo and offset, as well as the existing conversions currently in the market. Additionally, attendees could get to know the latest trends and solutions with high added value, such as laser technology or efficient automated processes. With a complete agenda, topics like sustainability through water-based inks and adhesives without solvents were discussed; as well as new trends in lamination, laser applications and robotization. The latter generated a high degree of interest in the Korean market. "This seminar has fulfilled all our expectations, both in terms of participation and satisfaction. It has been impressive to confirm in the first person that Comexi is the best global partner for Korean converters, and without a doubt it has been the perfect opportunity to reaffirm and consolidate our position in a market as important to us as the Korean one. These types of technical seminars are the best way to share our know-how, providing a personalized and enriching experience to our clients" says Victor Vilanova, Area Manager.

In the paper on offset printing, Comexi's commitment to this revolutionary technological solution –the central drum that adapts to the time-to-market demands– was confirmed. Also acknowledged was the reduction of the cost per impression. The lessening of the environmental impact due to inks without solvents EB did not go unnoticed, of course. "Korea is a country where we have great hopes for the future, both for its economic growth as a country and for the clear technological commitment being made by local printers and converters. It is a market that is giving us great satisfaction, and where we foresee important growth " says Gorchs.

The event was sponsored by the main Comexi partners; Esko, Maxcess, Jm Heaford, Toyo Ink, Enulec, Daetwyler, Rossini, Brookfield, Ahlbrandt.
