Comexi Group presents its new printing laminating and slitting machines at Drupa (n94/2012)

Girona, 11th May 2012.- Comexi Group, a specialist in the manufacture of machinery for the flexible packaging converting industry, has presented at Drupa, the international graphic arts trade fair, all its latest innovations for printing, laminating and slitting flexible materials: The COMEXI FLEXO F2, the COMEXI PROSLIT S-TURRET and the NEXUS Optima 450.

The COMEXIFLEXO F2 is the company’s newly-released flexographic press, a model of efficiency in the sustainable printing of flexible packaging, conspicuous for its accessibility, ease of maintenance and low energy consumption. This new press can be supplemented with Comexi’s modules, for managing pressure adjustments and registrations, with a notable reduction in wastage. It also has an automatic reel unload device developed entirely by Comexi ENVIROXI, the product line dedicated to developing solutions for production plant logistics management and aimed at reducing the converting industry’s environmental impact.

Another new product presented by the company at Drupa is the single turret slitter re-winder, the S-TURRET, aimed at the rigid or semi-rigid materials conversion market. The new STURRET has an unwinder with three maximum diameter settings (1,000 mm, 1,250 mm and 1,550 mm) that support three different weight capacities (1,350 kg, 2,150 kg and 3,000 kg respectively).

One of the most impressive innovations offered by the S-TURRET is the new Advance Lineal Winding System. This control system maintains the lay-on roller fixed to the frame and moves the re-wind shaft as it becomes bigger. In the process, it maintains a constant distance between the slitting area and the lay-on shaft area, thereby improving the quality of slitting and rewinding.

In order to ensure maximum rewinding quality, the machine also incorporates a "bowed" roller specially designed for the following types of pre-rewinding application: variable and adjustable bow with a high resolution curve in polyurethane to guarantee maximum durability.
COMEXIACOM will have a demonstration unit to showcase the new gravure printing technology. This unit incorporates the latest electronic advances with the Siemens SinamicsSimotion with controls integrated in the COMEXI ACOM software. All with the goal of improving register control performance during the transit and starting phases, minimising wastage and offering perfect sustained quality during the printing process.

The latest solutions for drying units offer the highest performance and full accessibility and ergonomic design for tool-free maintenance and cleaning. In addition to the concept of the new drying units, the new ventilation technology has been applied to gravure printing lines resulting in drastically improved energy saving.

The machines can be equipped with an efficient robotised and automated reel-handling system, designed and patented entirely by COMEXI ACOM.

For its part, COMEXI NEXUS is presenting its new cutting-edge laminator model, the NEXUS Optima 450. A new drying model, the Nexus OPTIMA will be demonstrated at the Comexi Group stand; this has a rotogravure trolley with a closed-chamber doctor blade and self-cleaning system.

The latest drying technology has greater blowing power and increased turbulence capacity, which facilitates solvent/glue evaporation, and a recirculation system that offers significant energy savings. The new rotogravure trolley constitutes a commitment on the part of COMEXI NEXUS to the reduction of solvent emissions and increased productivity.

All the Comexi Group novelties will be on show in Hall 10 C62 of the Drupa Trade Fair.
